Clean Label: More than a mere trend

Companies are feeling the pressure to reformulate by replacing artificial ingredients with natural or organic alternatives and are repositioning mainstream products and lines to have cleaner labels. With larger consumer groups interested and informed about how food is made and provided, there is a significant window of opportunity to educate consumers further about the different roles ingredients can play in today’s food. Clean label needs to be viewed holistically within the context of the whole marketing message and the whole of the product formulation.
